Cynthia really wanted to see Vancouver Island, so we took the ferry (with our car) to Victoria (capital of BC).  A very charming city with mild temperatures, and a high cost of living!
After 2 nights at the youth hostel, we drove to Tofino which was 450km away and the most western point of Canada where the transCanadian highway ends.

We camped in Ucluelet and spent my birthday hiking, camping, running and drinking cold beer while looking at the nicest Pacific Coast ever. We didn’t see the dangerous cougar that ate a little boy alive few days earlier, but we say coyotes and a black bear. The waves looked shitty (and the water dam cold), so I didn’t surf while in Tofino.  Instead, we camped at a campground which had a spa and we gracefully sipped wine in the spa every evening.
